TIHAR BAKING SCHOOL popularly known as Tihar Bakery has grown-up exceedingly fast because of its quality products and demand in the market. Bakery and confectionary products such as variety of Namkeen, cookies, Bread, Buns, Cake, Rusk, Marodi, Wafers, Matthi, Namakpare, Muffins etc. are prepared in hygienic conditions and high quality ingredients are used for making such products. The government infrastructure in the Jail Factory, CJ-2 was provided for this bakery and now this bakery unit is running purely with its own funds/no financial aid from government funds.
A major part of its products such as bread and biscuits are used for in house consumptions for its inmates lodged in different Delhi Prisons. Other products such as Namkeen, Cookies, Petha etc. are provided in the internal Jail Canteens for prisoners and surplus quantity is are provided at the outlets of Delhi Prison Department in the open market.
In addition of main bakery unit, three sub -units were also established within the premises of Jail Factory, which are also running with self-earned financial aid without using government funds;
