Digitalization of Internal Jail Canteens by Introducing Smart Card
Delhi Prison Department promptly initiated digitalization of its retail outlets and introduced smart card to each and every prisoner in all Jail of Delhi Prisons. All the prisoners use smart card and buy items of their day to day need at internal jail canteens, hence Tihar Jail is totally digitalized with 100% cashless transaction. For first retail digitalization of Delhi Prisons, an award was granted by the Hon`ble Prime Minister of India.
Delhi Prison`s Sales Outlets:
Following Delhi Prison`s Sales Outlets are running where jail made products are displayed/ sold at most competitive prices and payment is accepted through the debit/credit/smart cards ;
- Tihar Emporia: Near Prison Headquarter, Near Lajwanti Garden Chowk, Janakpuri, New Delhi.
- Tihar Haat: Jail Road, Hari Nagar, New Delhi.
- Internal Jail Canteens, in all Delhi Prisons (Introduction of Smart Card)

- TJ`s Outlet at Tis Hazari Court: Tis Hazari Court Complex, Delhi.
- TJ`s Outlet at Rohini Court: Rohini Court Complex, Delhi.
- TJ`s Outlet at Delhi High Court: Kiosk Nio.13, Delhi High Court Complex, N/Delhi.
- TJ`s Outlet at Dwarka Court: Lawyers Chamber Block, Dwarka Court Complex, Delhi.
- TJ`s Outlet at Pusa Institute: Pusa Institute Complex, New Delhi
Prisoner`s Wages
The inmates employed in factory are provided wages at the rates prescribed by Government of Delhi as follow:-
- Skilled worker : Rs.361/-
- Semi-skilled worker : Rs.328/-
- Un-skilled worker : Rs.297/-
